restore wood to pound plate on several articles I have around the house. What equipment needs,. I have a heat source of 1500 degrees
I regret to say that this is probably not a very practical idea. If your articles are actually silver-PLATE, there is a very thin layer of silver in a body of basic metals (copper, bronze or other), and if melted, would end up with an alloy with a little money and lots of other things. silver recovery techniques require use of dangerous chemicals (cyanide is the possibility of SAFER) that professionals usually only be obtained. Try to find a silver shop near you and see what they suggest, or talk to a local jeweler. Moreover, if the items are actually solid sterling silver, chances are you can melt and re-use at home.
