Can be dangerous smoky quartz?

I bought a smoky quartz 25 years ago. A friend told me it could have been irradiated for color dark and still might be a bit dangerous to health. Is it possible? I bought it in Canada, do not know its exact origin. Thank you.

The color of Smoky Quartz is commonly the result of a gamma ray bombardment of uranium mineralization near (or sometimes potassium or thorium), through millions or even thousands of millions of years. It does not become radioactive quartz of this process, its crystal structure is only altered to give the smoky color. When you go to an X-ray chest or dental X-rays, your body does not become an X-ray emitter, its the same process to gamma radiation. The object being irradiated does not become in radioactive. If you have ceramic toilets, drywall, or granite in your home, the more gamma rays emitted smoky quartz then ever. You have nothing to worry about.
